Dear Self,

The other day I was writing in my hard back journal and I got to thinking about my site. I kept thinking I don’t spend enough time writing new content, and what’s really the point of paying for it if I’m not going to use it? So while I was writing I was trying to come up with some ideas as to what to write about…that seems to be the age old question right?! Then it hit me, to start doing my ‘dear self’ letters for my site. Putting my random thoughts out there for all to see. Sometimes it’s quite interesting, other times it’s boring, but hang in there with me and we’ll see where this leads. I am going to try and do an entry per day, but sometimes I’m sure things are going to get in the way like they seem to always do. I think that we lose track of what is important and what brings us happiness each day. We get so wrapped up in all the helter skelter of everything and don’t remember to take time for ourselves. Self care is so important though, if we don’t take care of ourselves on every level, we are doomed to encounter things like burn out, depression, fatigue and even physical illness. I always try to stress to people how important self care is, but not too many people will listen. Everyone seems to think they can just go about their day la-dee-da and they’ll be “fine”, they can “handle it”…but what happens when they can’t? What do you do then when you can’t take a personal day because you literally can’t afford to miss even one day of work? You power through right? Of course you do, because you’re a fricking bad ass! Just don’t wear yourself too thin. Just some food for thought. I’m not going to make this too terribly long tonight. So on that note, I hope to continue to see you around and I hope you enjoy the new brand!
